Face Recognition site links Miyamoto to Jim Carrey, others

Technology is a funny thing. Don't ask us the technical details (and feel free to educate us, if you are in the know), but MyHeritage has face recognition software that scans images and tries to find matches from their archives. One poster on the GameBrink forums thought it would be fun to test out a picture of game design legend Shigeru Miyamoto.

To its credit, the site matched the photo with Mr. Miyamoto as the top choice (62%), but it was the secondary choices that made us chortle: Benicio Del Toro, Peter Sellers, Jim Carrey, and activist Aung San Suu Kyi. We never would have made these connections - but then again, we aren't face recognition experts, so who are we to argue?
