Face Recognition site links Miyamoto to Jim Carrey, others
Technology is a funny thing. Don't ask us the technical details (and feel free to educate us, if you are
in the know), but MyHeritage has face recognition software that scans images and tries to find matches from their
archives. One poster on the GameBrink forums thought it would be fun to test out a picture of game design legend
Shigeru Miyamoto. To its credit, the site matched the photo with Mr. Miyamoto as the top choice (62%), but it was the secondary choices that made us chortle: Benicio Del Toro, Peter Sellers, Jim Carrey, and activist Aung San Suu Kyi. We never would have made these connections - but then again, we aren't face recognition experts, so who are we to argue?

I can see a resemblance to Benicio DelToro. Not so sure about the other ones though.

I just used a screenshot from Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, and it was able to detect it as a face. An anime drawing on the other hand was unable to have it's face detected. I find it really cool though that it was able to detect the FF one as an actual face though. Props to Square on that one.

That site says I look like Guglielmo Marconi or Linus Pauling, depending on the pic I use.
