Itagaki shows off Ninja Gaiden II aqua city level

Leaked screenshots are one thing, but to truly experience the power of a ninja you need to see him in action. Fortunately, GameTrailers has footage from Tomonobu Itagaki's live demo of Ninja Gaiden II at Microsoft's pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference.
Itagaki says the "world's best action game" is "pretty far in development," as evidenced by the eight stages available on the demo's stage select screen (including one that intriguingly shows the Statue of Liberty). Only one level gets played in the live demo, though -- a Venice-style aqua city. Our favorite ninja is shown using a scythe-like sword, a pair of longswords and a set Wolverine-style claws against ninjas, military types and some green-blooded dragons. The action will be familiar to anyone who has played a modern Ninja Gaiden game, with plenty of bloody severed enemies and dramatic zooms for particularly vicious kills.
Unfortunately, the demo ends just before a battle with the towering red-eyed spider-beast shown above. Here's hoping we'll get some hands on time with the game when the Tokyo Game Show starts this Thursday.

Why the hell would they release a PS3 version of the first game if they weren't gonna do the sequel for it too. It just makes me really mad.

I don't know about that. Itagaki did say something along the lines of the 360 being the greatest thing ever. So I doubt we'll see a ps3 version for awhile.

They were just teasing you with the first one, that way when you got a taste of it on PS3, they'd make the second one only on 360 so you'll buy the system to play it.
No, but seriously, I'm pretty sure that SOMETHING from Tecmo will be coming to PS3. Just not Ninja Gaiden 2. Here's to hoping that we don't have to wait until next-gen to see another Ninja Gaiden after this one. I just don't think I can wait that long again. The first one was my favorite game of all time.

Ninja Gaiden II is published by Microsoft Game Studios. It will NEVER come out on the PS3.
The previous Ninja Gaiden games were all financed and published by Tecmo (and developed by Team Ninja). Tecmo is a multi-platform game publisher. This is why Sigma is out on the PS3. This won't happen with this sequel because Tecmo has nothing to do with this game.

Yeah it's crazy that they didn't start developing Sigma before PS3 was out. Besides I stand by my comment. Exclusively means nothing these days unless we're talking about a first party dev. We aren't. I wish I could believe this was 360 exclusive.

Fact: Microsoft is PUBLISHING Ninja Gaiden 2 so it's very likely that it will remain exclusive but that's nothing set in stone.
Fact: Microsoft doesn't own Tecmo or Team Ninja anymore than they own Epic when they published Gears Of War.

looks good, i'll have to pick this up, and i'm sure the reason its not on PS3 yet is its install base is to small and growing to slowly to focus work on it, i'm sure it will eventually get released on PS3 by that time though i'd probably already beaten it a few times on 360.

You answered your own question - The demographic for the 360 is white trash. Have you ever XBL users online? All they can do is scream and yell racist slurs and talk about how big their d*cks are. It really adds to the experience I think.
This board is heavily paTROLLED by anti-ps3 folk so you see a heavier load of anti-ps3 comments. If you hit a Pro PS3 board, you will see the opposite.
Actually, all the white trash who are able to stop smoking dope, playing lottery cards and drinking themselves to oblivion for 2 months are easily able to afford a PS3 but most can't or have no concept on how to manage money so they can't afford one.

Sony makes it easy to hate on the PS3. They were and are arrogant jackasses. They built their console with a late 90's attitude and expected the world to just grab their ankles and take what was coming because well..WE'RE SONY DAMMIT! Their console isn't competitive becuase of THEIR choices and it's those same choices that make people dislike it because they flat out disrespected their customers. I have a hard time feeling sorry for them.

This game immediately reminded me of God of War for some reason - looked like a button masher's delight.. but I can't imagine it is since you certainly couldn't get away with it in the original XBox version.
Score one for m$ - this is definitely a great franchise for them to pick up and make exclusive. It'd be interesting to see how it would have turned out on the PS3 too, but maybe they'll make something else.
