Kane and Lynch arriving one week early

November 2007 is a rough month. No, not for you, dear gamer. For you it is a never-ending bounty of games, a Studio 54-esque bacchanal of electronic entertainment. (Until you run out of money.) But it's a tough time for publishers looking to find a little elbow room for their games.
Take Kane and Lynch: Dead Men for example. GameSpot reports that the action duo has just made the jump from the Nov. 20 release spot it was sharing with Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Rock Band and Mass Effect to Nov. 14. Unfortunately, it's leapt headlong onto the same calendar spot as Assassin's Creed, Crysis, BlackSite: Area 51, Super Mario Galaxy and Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles, among others. It's a shame, really, that all these games have to fight for the spotlight. If only there weren't laws against releasing games before mid-November!

an actual video game coming earlier than it's release date? i don't understand.
Geist @ Oct 31st 2007 10:39PM
What is this peculiar phenomenon? Surely it's a delay, mixed in some sort of paradoxal statement of reversed polarity. Surely this hideous creation of 'early release' can not exist!
Deck @ Oct 31st 2007 6:20PM
Doesn't really help them I don't think. November is still piled high with so many good games, and they just moved the release into another huge pile.
rv @ Oct 31st 2007 6:25PM
If I had a game I would seriously think of delaying it just so it doesn't get lost in the crowd.
RPGJock @ Oct 31st 2007 7:22PM
That is easy to do, just develop it for the Playstation 3.
I can't believe I am bashing Sony, but I am so fed up the with them right now, arrogant bastards!! Will they please support their third party partner companies so that the games out on time. If I have to read another story that a PS3 game is being delayed this week.....
Matt B @ Oct 31st 2007 7:52PM
RPGJock,
My wallet doesn't mind delays considering how saturated the next 2 month are with solid titles.
Ed @ Oct 31st 2007 7:06PM
No! Same day as Assassin's Creed? Damn, I need to make a serious choice in my life now.
Geist @ Oct 31st 2007 10:41PM
Truly, it is Sophia's Choice.
JJ Rooster @ Nov 1st 2007 9:35AM
Your choice is 360 firmware mod FTW!

I really wish they would space the good stuff out over the year. it's not like I don't have money year round.
RPGJock @ Oct 31st 2007 7:23PM
Yea, it like next year I may have to make a saving account for games to get at the end of the year.
skunkworks @ Oct 31st 2007 7:26PM
I the summer I am swimming in cash. but around the holidays things are tight enough getting kids all set.

There's a lot of strange men in cell block 10
but the strangest of them all
was a friend of mine who spent his time
staring at the wall

mass effect.
nothing.else.matters.
Geist @ Oct 31st 2007 10:49PM
Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I find my interest for that game fading pretty quickly. The character interaction is excellent, but the battle system appears pretty blah.
Ed @ Nov 1st 2007 1:42AM
Yes, but do other games have hot cyborg chicks? DO THEY?!
Psaakyrn @ Nov 1st 2007 4:13AM
Well, it depends on whether you would consider Weighted Companion Cube..

Thats gotta be one of the stupidest decisions ever made when it comes to release dates.
I mean unless they're really that worried about Uncharted I don't see why they think they have a better shot at decent sales during their new week.
I mean for Gods sakes they're up against Super Mario Galaxy...
And if that doesn't kill em surely Crysis and Assassin's Creed will get em.
Just retarded really. Mass Effect and Rock Band are two totally different games that K&L. And Mass Effect is an exclusive so its not like it would be competing against that many significant other nonexclusives that week.

They lost my dollar when they took out online co-op.
samfish @ Nov 1st 2007 9:40AM
Not that this game really stood a chance, anyway, but it really just dug it's own grave.
...and then tossed it's coffin in for good measure.
Sean @ Nov 1st 2007 10:29AM
This game looks whack. I'm definitely getting SMG (U R MR GAY) and Rock Band. Reviews will help me decide on Assassin's Creed.
ryry @ Nov 13th 2007 9:27PM
thank the video gods for this delicious feast we are about to embark upon. the writers strike may take my "lost" but nothing will take my violent video games...
