Reminder: Nab Carcassone on XBLA for free (for now)

We know some of you spend long hours "working" just to make enough scratch to feed your "family." You have busy "lives", important "jobs", and not a whole bunch of extra "time" to think about free video games. On the other hand, we have no "responsibilities", no "pants", and nothing to do but look forward to days like today when, thanks to Microsoft's largesse, previously not-free games are now, for a limited time, free.
To celebrate the fifth anniversary of Xbox Live, Microsoft has made the board game-turned-Xbox Live Arcade title Carcassone free for forty-eight hours. We're about fourteen hours into that period, so consider this a reminder to tie a ribbon around your finger to remind you to download the game later.

True, but there was a HUGE advertisement that said Carcassone, Free! No date was given, nor was there a link to follow.
I guess that, actually being the 15th and all, it will be there tonight. :)

When I first heard that Carcassone was going to be a free for a day...my first thought was "Why didn't they choose a GOOD game?".
Then after realizing how unfair I was being towards a game I never played, I decided to play the demo.
After playing the demo, I must say.. It is a very good game.

I might download this game tonight after I get from school. After all, silver Live accounts can't play online, but they can still get downloads, am I right?
And judging by people's comments, it seems like this XBLA game is worth downloading...

Just buy 1 less game a year if its too expensive.
I don't understand why anyone would have a silver account, esp if you're already connected to the internet and now you don't need a cc.

you only need a gold acct for like cod4 or halo, imo
but if you want a gold acct, you can get 13 months prepaid cards for about $40 on various shopping sites

i've yet to play enough to judge, but so far catan is still my fave, its kinda exciting to gamble on the roll of a dice and play aggressively. Carcassonne is a way more relaxed game.
Perhaps the expansions change that, i dont know.

Happens all the time unfortunately. Gears of War map pack is a case in point, and a lot of other things that I can't think of right now.

I bought it like 2 days before the freebee was announced. Damn! Its a nice little game. I like the French rococo style of the characters. And the music gets stuck in my head for days. La-lala-lalalalala!
