Queen's gambit finds Chessmaster on XBLA in January

Not a lot of details have been revealed about this latest game to carry the Chessmaster banner, though to be honest we think we have a good idea what to expect. Still, Ubisoft's Peter Helm did describe the game as being a "comprehensive chess program" featuring "hundreds" of AI opponents for Elo-ranked matches, as well as Live play with with voice and camera support, which opens up the opportunity to return to those wild drunken nights spent at college playing 'strip chess.' Your move, baby.

This is a great idea, but they should do scrabble instead.
Every time I think about playing chess, I just play Starcraft instead.

I think Scrabble would make an awesome XBLA game. It would work great on the Wii too with the pointer to move and place pieces (assuming they had a solid online component). Someone needs to do it!

Bring BattleChess to PS3 to be used with the PlayStation Eye. Then again, it might not be as cool as I envision it.

I hope this will include chess matches over long periods of time, similar to chess by mail or some sort. Where you can start a match and then have the match saved on a server where each player can log in at their own time and make their move.

Hope they include some of the deeper Chessmaster aspects, from the coaching to the tracking and such.

This game is so bought.
Spyglass board games had a chess game, but that was crap.
