Devil May Cry 4 demo confirmed for PSN, XBL in early 2008
Getting gifts and embarrassing ourselves while under the influence of copious amounts of alcohol are reasons enough to count down until the new year, but Capcom has given us another reason to continue to mark through days on the kitchen calender, announcing plans to release a free playable demo of Devil May Cry 4 over both the Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Store in early 2008.
It's unclear exactly what will be included in the demo, with Capcom saying only that the download will serve to introduce the game's new hero, Nero, and feature levels "chosen to showcase Devil May Cry 4's varied locales and allow gamers to familiarize themselves with Nero's unique abilities." The demo will also include in-game instructions on how to use DMC4's Exceed sword charge system and various superhuman abilities, made possible by Nero's "Devil Bringer" powers, and will be capped off with a fight against a surly boss named Berial. We hope the boss has insurance, because players have been waiting a long time revisit Devil May Cry, and we imagine Berial is going to buried many times before the game's February 5, 2008 release.

Early 08 isn't soon enough! I want this one now. This game is one of the reasons I could not go without a new console. Amazing series of games (amazingly painful, in the case of DMC2).
BTW, Gamersyde has some scans featuring what appears to be a weapon related to the boss in the article picture here. http://www.gamersyde.com/news_5612_en.html

Playing this and NinjaGaiden will be pure action game bliss.
Though I perfer DMC over the NinjaGaiden series not taking anything away from how amazing Ninja Gaiden is.
Devil May Cry _ Ninja Gaiden = equal but different

It's about time we got something different from all the shooters that have been coming out. I've been needing some action game fix for awhile now, recently popped Shadows of the Colossus back into the old PS2 for a good romp.
Bring on the 'Devil Bringer'!

I really hope that "Berial" is a bad translation of Belial and not a weird spelling of burial.

Thats exactly what I was thinking.... LOL!

This and NG2 will make 2008 worthwhile

I can't wait.

I abso-fucking-lutely loved the first game. The third was awesome but I never finished it. I think the series really needs a kick in the pants to shake things up this time around. And I don't mean make Dante gay and call him Nero.
I don't know, maybe that is why Sony didn't care about this game going multiplatform. New IPs seem to be the focus for Sony right now. Same logic applies to GTA.
DBuck_Eye @ Dec 7th 2007 3:57PM
Didn't Capaom want this game out in 2006 for just the PS3? Just goes to show you how unreliable realease dates are.
Anticrawl @ Dec 7th 2007 6:01PM
It's to bad the majority of the 360 owners don't even really want this game.
No offense but I'm a bit more excited for Ninja Gaiden 2.

WOW. A DEMO for an OLD fighting game is confirmed for current platforms NEXT year. Thats like 3 negative points. Who gives a shit?
Moorio @ Dec 8th 2007 7:31PM
And I won't be playing it, because even though I'll be 17, and of age to walk into any store and purchase this game, I have a child XBL account, so Microsoft restricts my access to 'naughty' content, even though all parental settings on my 360 are set to allow everything.
Thanks Microsoft for looking after me!

cannot wait. one problem, though: why the hell can I not find ONE single definite release date? 5 other sites, I have checked, and all of them say exactly the same thing as joystiq.
To be short: I'm pissed.

It's funny so many people are mentioning Devil May Cry 4 along with Ninja Gaiden 2 as those are the exact two titles I am looking forward to this year. Halo 3 has been fun, but I need a break from shooters and I look forward to some solid single player action games.
