Bungie discusses playlist tweaks for tomorrow's Heroic Map Pack
Some news for you on the eve of tomorrow's release of the Halo 3 Heroic Map Pack: new playlist info! Via Bungie's Weekly Update, the crew is ready to incorporate the new maps into the general playlists, as well create a playlist just for those folks who don't want to mingle with the unwashed masses (ie: people waiting to pick up the maps for free in Spring '08). Worried about not being able to enjoy a round of matchmaking if you haven't dropped the 800 points ($10) for the maps? No worries, Bungie says, "Relax, you can matchmake fine, and you won't know or really see any difference."
But that's not all they're doing. They've got "variety updates" for "almost all of the playlists" including "some long requested [Battle Rifle] Start variants, wider map selection in the Ranked playlists, and a couple of map variants that we're going to try in [Big Team Battle] to start with." Sounds tasty. Expecting more? Well, the cats and kittens at Bungie are sorta busy with the whole map pack thing but you can look forward to December 18th's update, which will include the Team Hardcore playlist. More info straight from Bungie's collective mouth here.

Permanent zombie playlist or GTFO.

Zombies sucked to tell the truth. If they threw it in once in a while I could see it. Like in Lone Wolf every now and then you'd have a zombie game. Otherwise that matchmade list is just going to be ignored.

only if they make it more interesting, like cs's zombie mod (with real teams)
as it was on halloween, halo's zombie mod was just a strange free for all

Halo zombies is the best form of zombies. It is a free for all, however, teamwork is needed to hold off the zombies. You are supposed to work together even though you are all vying for the top spot. In the end, halo zombies isn't so much about score as it is about fun.
There needs to be an all zombies playlist. Guys that want a cool gametype for zombies, download organ trail from bungie. I played it with friends and it was so fun.

I want a Left 4 Dead style Zombies game. Really, I wish that there was some system that allowed people to edit games on the PC then put them on Bungie Online/play them on the 360.
But it's Microsoft, so I might as well throw a penny into a fountain and hope to god that it happens.

Zombie playlist, but no shields like it's meant to be played. I personally found the Halloween playlist boring compared to custom zombie games in halo 2.

I'll probably get the map packs when I'm done with UT3. Which may be never.

I still want to know what time of day these maps come out.

I want Team Swat back. No grenades and head shots only it really keeps the annoying players away.

Do we know exactly when they're going to be free?
Halo 3 has too much competition for my time this time around. I bought the Halo 2 packs day one, but I've got better things to be doing than playing $3 maps when I can play other stuff now and get them free later.

i'm glad for ranked big team. unranked games can get really annoying
bounchfx @ Dec 10th 2007 7:23PM
instead of me wasting 130$ on disappointment they should have included all future map packs with legendary... at least then I would have felt like I got something worthwile... it'd give me more incentive to pick up the game again, since it hasn't been touched after the first week.
but that's just me making a bad decision and buying the fucking ridiculously overhyped legendary edition.

I regret paying four bucks for renting this game.
HD this Bungie!
