GameFly opens Tampa, Florida distribution center
GameFly's Tampa, Florida distribution center finally became semi-official this week as subscribers received emails explaining their return mailer may now have a Tampa address. We contacted GameFly for a fuller explanation of states serviced, but the company stated it has no release at this time and will issue something later this month or January. If the opening of the Tampa site is anything like the one in Pittsburgh, the company will have the center work out the kinks and then announce states served. Now we wait for GameFly's Austin, Texas center to become semi-official, which we actually knew about months before Tampa.

NO WAY!! Gameznflix sux ass I closed my account!!! They take forever to get new games and when they do get the new good games they stay in your cue foreverrrrrr. Only good thing about it is the price. When that GF Austin office gets going Ill go back to them since I'm here in Houston.

I signed up for both Gameznflix and GameFly recently. GameFly, despite their distro center being further away and costing more per month, offers far superior service. I don't know what's wrong with Gameznflix (I used them months ago with no problem) but they have been awful. Some of the reviews I've read on them recently speculate that the company is about to close up shop.
More on topic, I got the GameFly email, and I live in SC. So I hope to see a slightly faster turnaround, though not much.

If Gameznflix were a body part, it'd be pure ass.
And not hot, smooth supermodel ass. Old, crusty wrinkly man ass.

Understanable, but you must also understand that, being the greatest of all 50 states, this is common practice in Florida. Pretty much EVERYTHING flocks here.

Like their own Fark category.
I think that pretty much removes you from the "greatest state" running, as does being home to John Bruce (Jack) Thompson.

Yes, everything, including nearly every phone and internet scam, the elderly, and let's not forget (and this one is the one that will get me grayed out) hurricanes.

They need something down in the 'extremes' distances, which cause a 5-7 day wait.
Florida is not so cool as much as it's just a strategic business opportunity.
Besides, I'm just waiting until they have one in every state, then I won't have to wait 3 days in, 3 days out for a game.
ColossalHat @ Dec 11th 2007 4:41PM
I think the Texas one would become the nearest one to my location (Nebraska) when it opens, I'm not really up to date on their locations since I like to own things rather than rent them.

Right now all they have is the west coast one and Pittsburgh right? The more distribution centers anywhere relieves the stress on all of them so everyone that opens is good with me.

I get my GF rentals in 4 days - send it on monday, get it friday.
William @ Dec 11th 2007 5:54PM
Florida is served, obviously. I got an email the other day stating that Tampa would be my new distro center.
Mr.ESC @ Dec 11th 2007 6:50PM
Orlando is more gothic than Tampa.
DeadPlasmaCell @ Dec 11th 2007 7:22PM
Austin, Tx would be awesome.. I'm right outside Houston so games should be there quick like!
allspam @ Dec 11th 2007 7:40PM
Considering I live just north of Tampa, this is great news.

Hot as hell with a chance of rain. All. Year. Long.
